1. Introduction

In the Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Most Mercy-Giving, The Most Compassionate. May the Blessings and Peace of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad , his family, his companions and his sincere followers who always commit in Islam.

As we known, the Mosque plays an important role for all of Muslim’s activity. Mosques have not only played a vital and meaningful role as the focus of religious activities, but also as centers for social and educational programs. In addition, the mosque stands as an important bulwark of Muslim identity and community integrity.

Our own history proves that Mosque building is a basic foundation in forging the unity of the Muslim community. When Rasulullah migrated and arrived in Madinah (hijrah from Makkah to Madinah), one of the first things that he did was to build a Mosque, i.e. Nabawi Mosque. The azan and congregational prayers were established. At that time, beside its function as the main place for Muslim to serve Allah as His servants, the Mosque also became a place to make agreements, to make strategic war, da’wah, etc. Without the Mosque which gathers Muslims together, the ukhuwwah that is a religious duty cannot be achieved. Without the Mosque, Muslims cannot unite. The Mosque in Islam is a symbol of unity and progress of the ummah.

Now, we are in some place where Muslims constitute a minority living in a non-Muslim society. It is not means; we do not need the Mosque. Moreover, there are many Muslims in Hamamatsu. It is a real fact that the biggest obstacle in carrying out the activities of Muslims, who are living in Hamamatsu and its surroundings, is the non-existence of a permanent place. Most of the activities, such as Friday prayer, Eid prayer, general meetings, cultural and social activities and the like are held in a time-restricted rental hall. Hence the growth and effectiveness of Islamic activities are hampered. It is really shameful not to have a proper place even to carry out the basic Islamic duties in Hamamatsu. The Japanese also have no place to get materials or proper information about Islam and Muslims, and have rarely any chance to meet and talk with Muslims. In fact every resident of Hamamatsu is missing a great chance of mutual cultural exchange with Muslims due to the absence of any Islamic center in this city. Based on that fact, we try to collect and manage money for establishing a Mosque in Hamamatsu. We realize that this effort will need money in great quantities. Also, it will probably need a very long time to realize it. However, we are sure that Allah will help and Allah will make everything is easy. “In tanshurullaha yanshurkum wayutsabbit aqdamakum.” Its meaning: If you will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. (The Holy Quran, Muhammad/7)

2. Project

We would like to remind of the great rewards from Allah for whoever helps in establishing Mosque (Allah Houses), especially in a place where one does not exist yet.

1. Allah says (to the nearest meaning):
The Mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained only by those believe in Allah and the Last Day; perform regular prayers (As-sholah), and give Zakat, and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. (The Holy Quran, Al-Taubah/18).

2. Rasulullah said:
Whoever builds or helps in building a House of Allah, Allah will builds for him a house in Paradise (Hadist recorded by Ibnu Majah from Jabir)

4. Name of Project

3. Location

Around Hamamatsu city, Shizuoka-ken, Japan. Definite location will be decided later.

5. Fund Resource

Since it is very expensive to buy the land and construct the building for the mosque, it is decided to purchase a ready-made building with land which can be used as our Mosque Complex. The estimated amount of money required is not less than 30,000,000 Japanese Yen (twenty millions Japanese Yen) for buying or building, equipping, and running a small mosque. By the help of Allah swt, at present (March 2005) HMP has more than 2,700,000 Japanese Yen, mainly donations from local members. We still need a lot of money to support in establishing a Mosque in Hamamatsu. Therefore, we urge every Muslim to donate some amount of money to the HMP bank account as follows:
